Kirsten Ruth Westerholm

Kirsten Ruth Westerholm, 57, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her father on Saturday, December 26, 2015, from her residence. Ms. Westerholm was born in Torrance, Calif., to the late Wayne and Dollie Chase Westerholm.
Ms. Westerholm spent her career providing care as a nurse. She served in the United States Air Force and was of the Presbyterian faith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Steven Daniel Alvarez, Dolly Marie Alvarez, Amber Rose Alvarez and Michael Owen Nava; 11 grandchildren; and one brother, Allan Westerholm.
A service to honor the life of Ms. Kirsten Ruth Westerholm will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 9, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Justin Deaton officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, or at the residence of her daughter, Dolly, at anytime. A graveside service will follow at Johnson-Roanview Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
