On Friday, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.) announced former field representative John Abe Teague will take over as district director for Bill Snodgrass, who retired earlier this month.
“Bill Snodgrass has been an invaluable asset to my team, and – while I’m sad to see him retire – I know he will enjoy more time with his wife Alice and their family,” Roe said. “Bill has worked nonstop the last seven years to serve constituents in the First District, and I can’t think of a better, more dedicated public servant. His leadership will be sorely missed, but Bill has always been more than a staffer; he has been and will always be a dear friend.”
Teague previously worked in Roe’s district office as a field representative and retired last year, turning over his position to Bill Darden. Prior to his retirement, Teague’s duties included assisting constituents at the field office as well as traveling the district to host mobile field office hours.
“I’m honored that my former field representative, John Abe Teague, has agreed to return from his retirement to lead my district team,” Roe said. “I can’t thank John Abe, his wife Vickie and their family enough for the sacrifice they are making, and I’m excited for this new chapter of leadership in my district offices. John Abe is well-respected throughout the First District, and I know he will work tirelessly to get things done for East Tennesseans. This has already been a seamless transition, and, as always, my entire district team stands ready to assist constituents.”
Roe has two field offices in the First Congressional District, both of which will be supervised by Teague.
The Kingsport Field Office is located in the Higher Education Building at 205 Revere St., in Kingsport. The phone number for the Kingsport office is 423-247-8161.
The Morristown Field Office is located at 1609 Walters State CC Drive, Suite 4, in Morristown. The phone number for the Morristown office is 423-254-1400.
Staff members at the district field offices offer assistance with a variety of federal programs, including help with:
• Senior Citizens: Social Security and disability

• Veterans: VA claims and military service problems
• Small Business: SBA loan applications, technical assistance and interpretation of federal regulations
