Local residents will soon have the opportunity to dance the night away like a Disney princess or prince charming.
The Elizabethton Recreation Center will be transformed into a ballroom next week for father-daughter and mother-son dancing duos at an upcoming Frozen-themed father-daughter, mother-son dance. The event will take place at the Recreation Center at 300 W. Mill St. from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22.
“It’s a time to celebrate the evening with your children in a fun, festive environment with a theme that kids love,” said Kelly Kitchens, Parks and Recreation administrative assistant.
Guests are invited to come “dressed for the ball” to dance and interact with special guests Elsa, Ana and Olaf from the popular Disney movie Frozen.
A live DJ will be present along with light refreshments.
The department has never hosted an event of this type, and Kitchens said if it is a success they are likely to plan something similar in the future.
“Dances like this have been a big hit in Johnson City, so we are expecting a good turn out,” she said.
The event is free, and guests are welcome to call 423-547-6441 for any additional information.
