Ellen Pierce Bradley, 88, of Elizabethton, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016, at Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late James Griffin and Anna May Oliver Pierce and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lloyd Bradley, in 1966; a son, David Bradley; three sisters and four brothers.
She loved keeping her grandchildren and was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Phillip Bradley Sr., Geane Bradley and Michael Bradley Sr., all of Elizabethton; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Novella Nidiffer, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Bradley will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Larry Garland officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, or at the home at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 21, at the Bradley Cemetery. Active pallbearers will Michael Bradley Jr., Chris Bradley, Phillip Bradley Jr., Larry Nidiffer, Eddie Nidiffer and Timothy Pearson. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Bradley, Jim Thorpe and Kevin Bradley. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet the family at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
