Carin Price Grant, 68, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Elizabethton, passed away after a long battle with cancer, on Monday, January 18, 2016, at her residence. Carin was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., a daughter of the late John C. Price and Charlene Hunter Price. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry G. Grant, and a brother, John David Price.
Carin enjoyed being a wife, mother, sister and especially loved being Granny to her nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and was looking forward to meeting her fifth great-grandson, Kayson, next month. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking for anyone that would let her. Carin was a member of Heartland Fellowship Church of Elizabethton.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro, her nurse Chrystie and niece Stacy for their loving care during mom’s illness.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Charlene Marie Hudgins (Brian) of Smyrna, Tenn., Natalie Kay Canipe of Piney Flats, Tenn., and Teresa Anne Stevens and husband Rick of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two step-sons, Adam Elliott and wife Lisa, and Phillip Grant of Elizabethton, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Michael Bastin Jr. (Ashley), Danielle Jenkins Crumly (Justin), David Jenkins, Anthony Jenkins, Emily Jenkins, Justin Stevens, Jeremy Stevens, Joshua Stevens (Emily) and Adli Elliott; her great-grandchildren, Reagan, Zachary, Damon and Carter; one sister, JoAnn Price-Burkett of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and a special friend of 48 years, Phyllis Walker of Elizabethton, Tenn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Carin Price Grant will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 22, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Marvin Slagle officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 1 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow at Patton-Simmons Cemetery in Johnson City, Tenn.
