Ruthie Jones Terry, 64, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016, at her residence.
Ruthie was a native of Carter County and a 1969 graduate of Happy Valley High School. She was a seamstress and formerly worked at Denise Lingerie and Siemens. She loved spending time with her grandkids and her family. She was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church.
Ruthie was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Carroll Buck.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Ed Terry; a son, Brian Keith Buck and wife Tracie, Mooresville, N.C.; a daughter, Tina Michelle Buck and boyfriend, Mike Hughes, Butler; two grandchildren, Ashley and Riley Buck; her parents, Rev. Kenneth and Pearl Jones, Elizabethton; a brother, Tony Jones and wife Irene, Elizabethton; her nephew, Mark Jones; her niece, Kim Reece; five step-children, Eddie Terry and wife Patricia, Roanoke, Va., Sherry Delp and husband John, Marion, Va., Carole Delp and Linda Broadwine, both of Chilhowie, Va., and Tommy Terry, Saltville, Va.; and seven step-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ruthie Jones Terry will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Biggs and Dr. Alan King officiating. Music will be provided by Cindy Johnson and Greg Ruston. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 28, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, will be Riley Buck, Ian Ford, Mark Jones, Eddie Terry, Tommy Terry, Mike Hughes, Jeff Townsend, Kevin Townsend, Eric Delp, Kevin Delp and Tyler Delp. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
