Charles “Charlie” Stevens

Charles “Charlie” Stevens, 61, of Limestone, went home to be with his Lord, on Monday, February 1, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was the son of the late Rebecca Taylor Baird and Harlen Stevens and was born in Carter County on March 15, 1954. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Yates; two brothers, Roger Stevens and Paul Stevens; and his step-father, Luther Baird.
Mr. Stevens was of the Christian faith. He loved his Harleys, hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 15 years, Barbara Stevens, of the home; his children, Wendy Sams, Christy Baggett, Doug Stevens, Carmen Perry, Aaron Perry, Danielle Bowling, Jessica Perry and Cassandra Huff; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His special friends, Freddie Bradshaw and George Lapotta, also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Stevens will be conducted on Thursday, February 4, at 7 p.m. in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Brandon Young and Rev. Roy Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service, and at the home of his son, Aaron, 561 Brethren Church Road, Jonesborough, Tenn., at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, February 5, at Lyons Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Allen Ward, Josh Sams, Wayne Sams, Mark Favor, Brian Cox and Freddie Bradshaw. Dennis Isaacs and his host of many friends will be honorary pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet the family at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
