Carroll Range Meredith

Carroll Range Meredith, 77, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016, in the Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Ossie Range Meredith.
Carroll was a 1957 graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended Milligan College and East Tennessee State College. He was a retired truck driver with ABF Trucking Company.
Carroll was a member of the TSSAA. He was a high school and college refree until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of Gap Creek Christian Church. He was an avid golfer and a former member of the Elizabethton Golf Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Meredith, who died September 26, 2015.
Survivors include his wife of 55 yearsm Gail Brooks Meredith; a granddaughter, Amelia Meredith, Gray; a grandson, Evan Mark Meredith, Knoxville; two brothers, Larry Meredith and his wife Leslie and their children, Mike and Susie of California, and Gary Meredith and his son Steve of North Carolina; a special daughter, Karen Johnson and her son Dustin Campbell of Gray and granddaughter, Karina Campbell; two nieces and several nephews; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sue and Bob McEntee, L.B. and Tammy Brooks and Becky Mangognia.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 18, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Todd Wolf, Mr. Roland Whittemore and Mr. Billy Murphy officiating. Music will be by Todd and Susie Wolf. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 19, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Friday, will be Jordan Whitaker, Lewis Whitaker, Jeff Peterson, Tyler Peterson, L.B. Brooks Jr., Craig Brooks, Rick Meredith and Tyler Britt. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Edens, Leon Blevins, Charlie Bayless, L.B. Brooks, Garrett Aldridge, Tom Foster, Dr. Lester Koe, Dr. Charles Cole, Bob McEntee, Dr. Bob Sams, Kirk Hayes, Billy Murphy and his golfing buddies. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Martin Tran, Dr. James Evans and Rose, Dr. Gretchen Bowling and the Fresenius Center. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
