David G. Presnell, 46, of Roan Mountain, died Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was a son of the late David and Marion Jane Stout Presnell and was born in Banner Elk, N.C., on May 3, 1968.
David was a good father who loved his children, enjoyed football, and liked to make others laugh and smile. He was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Nikkie Presnell, Roan Mountain; one son, Shane Presnell and his wife, Savannah, formerly of Roan Mountain but stationed in San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Gilbert Presnell, Bristol, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Maleya Presnell and Madeline Presnell; his fiancée, Dawn Miller, Fall Branch; his ex-wife, Christy Presnell, Roan Mountain; special friends, Ronnie Miller, Chris Hooks, Jimmy Lusk and Gerald Gurley; and many other family and friends.
A service to honor the life of David G. Presnell will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, February 29, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, prior to the service, or at the residence of his children or brother. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the Harrison Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ed Bush, Jimmy Lusk, Tom Erwin, William Erwin, Greg Erwin and Chris Hook. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Berry, Dustin Johnson, Eddie Miller and Kevin Shell. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Roan Mountain at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Terry A. Pearce
Terry A. Pearce, 48, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, from his residence, following a courageous battle with cancer. Terry was a son of Pat Burton Pearce, of Elizabethton, and the late Charles E. Pearce. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his triplet brothers, an infant, Timothy Pearce, and Tommy Pearce, in 2010.
Terry had lived in Carter County most of his life and was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed attending the Elizabethton Twins baseball games, working out at the gym, crafting and working on his computer.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 25 years, Lisa Bowers Pearce, of the home; his mother, Pat Burton Pearce, of Elizabethton; a brother, Chuck Pearce and wife Teresa, of Elizabethton; a nephew, Joshua Kyker and wife Toshia, of Jonesborough; a great-nephew, Mason Kyker, of Jonesborough; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Verl and Mae Bowers, of Roan Mountain; a brother-in-law, Billy Bowers, of Roan Mountain; a niece, Breanna Franklin and husband Joey, of Roan Mountain; a great-nephew, Tristan Franklin, of Roan Mountain; a special aunt, Mary Glasstetter; and two special pet dogs, Corey and Mindy.
A service to honor the life of Terry A. Pearce will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 27, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Terry Dugger, minister, and Rev. Kenneth Bewley officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, or at his residence at anytime. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 28, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be coaches and staff of the Elizabethton Twins Baseball team. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 12:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession. Alvin Eddie Clark
Alvin Eddie Clark, 72, of Johnson City, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center.

Howard William Jewett
Howard William Jewett, 81, of Elizabethton, a native of Johnson County, who lived most of his life in Carter County, passed away at the Burgess Square Healthcare Center in Westmont, Ill., on Saturday, February 20, 2016, where he was taken to be closer to his daughter and her family. His birthday would have been March 13.
Mr. Jewett served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Knights of the Blue Nose based on his service at a Strategic Air Base in Thule, Greenland.
Howard was a graduate of Happy Valley High School and Elizabethton Business College from 1970-1974 in which he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Higher Accounting and Business Management. Howard utilized his Bachelor’s Degree and started his own business, Howard’s Shop E-Z, at the corner of Holly Lane and W. Elk Avenue in Elizabethton. Later in life he also started a second business, Howard’s Shop E-Z II, on West G Street in Elizabethton. According to his past customers, his “hotdogs” will never be forgotten. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going out to restaurants, especially Bojangles, and watching western movies. He also enjoyed a good basketball or football game.
Howard was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church.
He was a son of the late Frank and Alice Wagner Jewett of Butler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise D. Buckles Jewett, and his brother, Vaughn Jewett, Elizabethton.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Sheila Jeannette Bailey, and son-in-law, Bill E. Bailey, his grandchildren, Bill G. Bailey, Brandy A. Bailey and Jesse L. Bailey, who reside in Darien, Ill.; his half brother, Frank “Buster” Jewett and wife Linda of Doylestown, Ohio; his nieces, Judy Massey and Tammy Simerly, Elizabethton, and Lisa Jewett of Ohio, along with his nephews, Keith Massey, Johnson City, Kenneth Jewett and Larry Jewett, Elizabethton, and Frank Jewett Jr. of Ohio; and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Francis Jewett of Elizabethton.
A service to honor the life of Howard Jewett will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, February 26, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Fowler officiating. Music will be provided by Greg Ruston and Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. The graveside service and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 27, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and in-laws, James J. Bailey and Carl L. Bailey. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Alan Cox of Life Care Center of Elizabethton for his care and consideration of Howard and also to James John and Nancy Bailey and Carl Lynn and Debbie Bailey. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery. Michael Earl Honeycutt
Michael Earl Honeycutt, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 19, 2016, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A lifelong native of Elizabethton, he was the son of the late Earl Jason and Margaret Louise Largent Honeycutt.
Michael was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the Elizabethton Moose Club. He enjoyed mowing, fishing, sitting next to the riverbank and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandson, Lliam.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristin N. Honeycutt; grandson, Lliam Honeycutt; sister, Cynthia Louise Honeycutt; aunt, Shirlene Roberson; uncles, Eddie, Clarence, Earnest Largent and Billy Julian; special friends, Carl Anderson, Tracy Stroupe and her family; and several cousins.
A gathering of friends and family to honor Michael E. Honeycutt will be held on Wednesday, February, 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The River House, 192 River Road, Elizabethton. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 25, at Largent Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Tim “Truck” Roberson, Tommy Lynn Roberson, Andy Hyder, Jody Hathaway, Bobby Stevens and Nicholas Hughes. Honorary pallbearers are David Whaley and Carl Anderson. Phyllis Anne Lloyd
Mrs. Phyllis Anne Lloyd, 72, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Pike County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late George and Mahala Francis Clevenger.
Mrs. Lloyd loved to spend time with her granddaughters, her sisters and her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Doris Nelson, Elizabethton; a son, Mike Nelson, Tampa, Fla.; two granddaughters, Brittanie Nelson and Sierra Nelson, both of Tampa, Fla.; and two sisters, Hazel Linck of Ohio, and Loraine Maynard of West Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date. Those who prefer memorials may make donations to Amedisys Hospice, 1500 West Elk Avenue, #202, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
