Tickets are now available for a dinner celebration recognizing inductees to the Carter County Imagination Library Educators Hall of Fame.
The dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. on April 23 at First Christian Church, located at 513 Hattie Ave. in Elizabethton. Tickets are $20 and are available at the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library or from any of the Imagination Library board members.
Proceeds will benefit the Imagination Library, which promotes childhood literacy by providing the gift of a book to children 1,871 Carter County children each month.
Each year, more than 150 guests attend the dinner to commemorate these retired educators for their lifelong investment in the betterment of Carter County.
Chair of the Imagination Library Board, Lilo Duncan encourages all to submit nominations for the Hall of Fame. Two teachers will be selected from the Carter County School System, and two from the Elizabethton City School System — one living and one deceased from each.
