Chadric A. Perry, 78, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away suddenly in the early hours of Wednesday, March 30, 2016, following a long battle with ALS. A native of Carter County, Chad was the son of the late Bruce Wallace Perry and Faye Buck Forbes.
Survivors include wife, Lana Perry, and dog Molly, sons, Bruce E. Perry and Michael Johnson, and grandson, Chad Johnson, all of Elizabethton, and sister, Gaylia Forbes of Lenoir, N.C.
Chad was a joyful soul who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved being outdoors and found an awe in nature. Most of all, he loved the lake. Since he was a young man, he found great joy simply being on the water. Chad was able to make regular trips to Watauga Lake with his son Bruce all the way through the final year of his life and enjoy rides in his newest “dream boat.” Chad also enjoyed gathering with friends at his home on the back-yard patio overlooking the Watauga River, and expressed his desire for a private memorial service to be held there with family and friends when he passed. The family will honor his wishes, and extends an invitation to immediate family and friends to attend the service which will be held at the home on Sunday, April 3, at 2 p.m.
Condolences may also be sent to the home of wife Lana Perry at 1399 Broad Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643 and family and friends are invited to visit personally at any time.
