Landon “David” Chambers III

Landon “David” Chambers III, 66, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at his home in Alpharetta, Ga., after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.
David was born and raised in Elizabethton, Tenn. He was the son of the late Martha Thomas Chambers and the late L.D. Chambers Jr. He graduated from Elizabethton High School and attended East Tennessee State University and Lincoln Memorial University. He served in the United States Army in Germany and Korea in the late 1960s. He had an accomplished career as a construction superintendent in commercial building and restoration in Charlotte, N.C., Orlando and Lake Worth, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Bowman Chambers of Elizabethton, Tenn., and four children, Landon Chambers IV of Nashville, Tenn., Colby Lane Chambers of New York City, N.Y., Darrin M. Chambers of Orlando, Fla., and Katie Chambers, a graduating senior at the University of Alabama; two grandchildren, Dylan Chambers, son of Landon and Kristen Chambers, and Anabelle Chambers, daughter of Darrin Chambers. In addition, two sisters, Suzanne (Greg) Zaremba of Richmond, Va., and Leigh McKeehan (John) of Elizabethton, Tenn.; one brother, Edward (Tonya) Chambers of Woodstock, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and one brother, Joel Chambers.
There will be a private service held for family and close friends Monday, April 4, at Mountain Home Veterans Cemetery.
