Bulah Edith Lipford Snavely

The family of Bulah Edith Lipford Snavely is rejoicing at her home going, Friday, April 15, 2016, at Hillview Health Center after an extended illness. She was born May 25, 1925 in Elizabethton to the late James Homer Lipford Sr. and Addie Crowe Lipford.
Bulah was retired from the Carter County School System and loved to quilt and sew. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Edwin Snavely, September 22, 1979, and by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Charletta Weeks, Saugus, Calif., Connie (Frank) O’Halloran, Folsom, La., and Linda (Clarence) Bowman, Elizabethton (Clarence was a much loved son-in-law and caregiver for many years); a son, Jack (Barbara) Snavely, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, including a very special granddaughter, Christina (Randy) Harrison, Roxanne (Joe) Jennerson, Cheryl (Mike) Cook, Mark (Ingrid) Weeks, Patrick O’Halloran, Daniel (Amina) Gutierrez, Ross Snavely, Savannah Snavely and Nick Snavely; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Vandeventer and Mary King, both of Elizabethton; and two brothers, Jack (Judy) Lipford and Robert Lipford, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Bulah Edith Lipford Snavely will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23, in the Highland Cemetery with Mr. Will Andrews giving the Eulogy and Rev. Gary Edwards. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. The family would like to express a very special “Thank You” to the staff of Hillview Health Center for all the love and care that was shown to her during her illness. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the graveside service. Friends may also visit with the family at the home of Linda and Clarence Bowman.
