Terry “Tiny” Wayne Blevins

Born April 7, 1956 in Saginaw, Mich., to Jesse and Anita Hardin Blevins, Terry lived most of his life in the Stoney Creek community of Carter County, Tenn. Terry peacefully went to be with his Savior on Monday, April 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Terry is survived by his “brother and sister-in law” (Lynn and Linda Peters) and his “niece and nephew” (Lynae and Nick Colbaugh).
Terry lived his life as a servant to the public. He retired from the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, where he served as a dispatcher and jailer with 24 years of service. Terry was a past member of the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department and an honorary member of the Carter County Rescue Squad, serving both as a dispatcher.
Terry was a Master Mason of Watauga Lodge #622 F&AM. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Big Orange football. He was a member of the 1975 Unaka High School Ranger graduating class.
A committal service for Terry will be held Saturday, April 23, at 10 a.m. at the Blevins Cemetery in Stoney Creek with the Rev. Nick Colbaugh officiating. A eulogy will be given by Mr. Chris Mathes. Those wishing to attend should assemble at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. The “family” of Terry wishes to thank Dr. Alan Cox, FNP Jodie Martin, the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton, Dr. Scott May, the staff of Pine Ridge Care and Rehab Center, the Hospice staff of Amedisys, and longtime friend, Mr. Hugh Buckles, for their care, love, and compassion given to Terry.
