Walter Stanley Patrick

Walter Stanley Patrick, 90, of 780 S. Austin Springs Road, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, at his residence. He was a native of Washington County and a son of the late Rev. D.C. Patrick and Lurie Bell Greene Patrick.
Mr. Patrick retired from Klopman Mills and was a World War II veteran, having served in Rome, Southern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was wounded in France in 1944 and received a Purple Heart, four Bronze Stars and awarded the World War II Victory Medal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Anne Shoun Patrick, in 1994; a son, Charles Patrick; a brother, Donald Patrick; a sister, Willie Andies; an infant sister, Florence Patrick; two sisters-in-law, Theo and Rose Patrick; and two brothers-in-law, Ralph Andies and Howard Grindstaff.
Survivors include a son, Roger Patrick, and a daughter, Carol Cretsinger, both of Johnson City; a sister, Margaret Grindstaff of Elizabethton; two nieces, Brenda Miller and husband, Kenneth, and Marie Frazier and husband, Robert, all of Elizabethton; a son-in-law, David Cretsinger of Johnson City; and also several other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Mr. Patrick will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 25, at Monte Vista Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Lyons officiating. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 p.m. There will be no formal visitation. Condolences may be made online at www.wadugger.com.
