Charles “Blue” Treadway

Charles “Blue” Treadway, 69, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Robert and Grace Estep Treadway.
Blue was a 1964 graduate of Unaka High School and had served in the Tennessee National Guard for 10 years. He was retired in supervision at North American Rayon Corporation. He was a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238, a member of Jericho Shrine Temple, and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of the Jericho Oriental Band. He was also a farmer.
Blue was of the Baptist Faith and a former member of Hunter First Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Carol Hodge Treadway; two daughters and their spouses, Carrie and Johnnie Wilson, Hampton, and Kellee and Brandon Blevins, Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Kaylee Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Eli Blevins and Clayton Blevins; and three sisters, Margaret Treadway, Betty Jones and Patsy Trivette, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Charles “Blue” Treadway will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Alan King officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, will be Brandon Blevins, Johnnie Wilson, Prentice “Bo” Trivette, Matthew Holtsclaw, Kevin Grindstaff, John Allen, Eddie Nidiffer and Rickey Hampton. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Campbell, Raymond Holtsclaw, Henry Allen, Lindsey Rash, Floyd Campbell, Rick Williams and Lynn Smith. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of his daughter, Kellee Blevins, 272 Steel Bridge Road, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website at www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
