Ricky Lee Shafer I, 52, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Ricky was born in Sturgis, Mich., and moved to Elizabethton in 1998. He was a member of the First Church of God.
He was preceded in death by a sister, April Lee Hochstetler.
Survivors include six children, Crystal, Ricky, Ashley, Justice, Jonah and Isaac; eight grandchildren; his mother, Lucy Hochstetler, and step-father, Levi; his father, Arnold, Mesa, Ariz.; three sisters, Diana McNamara, Deborah Sermersheim and Teresa Forbes; two brothers, Don and Dean Shafer; and several nieces and nephews.
It was his wish to be cremated and no services are planned.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the Shafer family.
