Carol June Grindstaff Vance, 77, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Hermitage Health Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh T. and Hazel Caudill Grindstaff.
Carol was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She retired from Shufford Mills in Granite Falls, N.C. She was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Rocky L. Tester; a granddaughter, Terrilynn Lewis; and a brother, Robert Grindstaff.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Diane Peayatte, Johnson City; four grandchildren, Matthew Lewis, Andy Lance Lewis, Stephen Steel Tester and Zoya Starr Tester; four great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Robert Lee Grindstaff II.
Funeral services for Carol June Grindstaff Vance will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the New Slagle Cemetery, Reynolds Road, Elizabethton. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
