Sherry Dawn Campbell, 46, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at her residence. She was a Carter County native. Prior to her illness, she was employed by the Carter County School System as a School Bus Driver. Sherry was a member of Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church. She loved to go camping.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years: Mickey Campbell. Two Children: Christina Nichole Campbell and Mickey Campbell, Jr. Her granddaughter: Katelyn Campbell. Her mother & step-father: Cathy & Ron Kent, Elizabethton. Her Father & Step-Mother: Nolan & Phyllis Sams, Elizabethton. Two Brothers: Tommy Dean Sams and wife Christy and Hughie Guy Sams and wife Barbara. A very special friend: Dixie Leonard. Several uncles, aunts & cousins.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 in the Garland Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Kevin Campbell, Matthew Campbell, Mickey Campbell, Jr., Wayne Dunn, Ron Kent and Aaron Pierce. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Johnny & Penny Sams and her family and friends. The family will receive from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of her mother & step-father: Cathy & Ron Kent, 133 Campbell-Rash Road, Elizabethton.
