Jeremy David King (King), 34, of Elizabethton, passed through the gates and received his wings on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, from his residence. Born on November 18, 1981, he was a native of Carter County and the son of Pamela Collins Goad of Elizabethton, and Tim King of Johnson City.
Jeremy worked as a pipefitter and attended Bible Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Elizabethton High School, Class of 2000, and attended Austin-Peay State University. He was a starter for the Elizabethton High School Cyclone Football Team for three years and achieved All Conference and All State. While attending EHS he was also a member of the choir.
Jeremy enjoyed fishing, spending time with his friends, golf, hunting and NASCAR. He was an avid fan of UT Football, Dallas Cowboys Football and University of Texas Longhorn Basketball. He also loved to cook and grill out.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Pamela Collins Goad of Elizabethton; his father, Tim King of Johnson City; his paternal grandmother, Katherine “Granny” Leamon of Elizabethton; his paternal grandfather, Shannon “Gramps” Leamon of Chattanooga; his maternal grandmother, Jean “Nanny” Collins of Elizabethton; his maternal grandfather, Tom “Pap” Collins of Elizabethton; his great-aunt, Aunt Mary King of Elizabethton; an aunt, Tammie Dugger of Elizabethton; his uncle, Joe Dugger of Elizabethton; and a cousin, Cheyenne Dugger of Elizabethton, who is on the cheerleading squad at Unaka High School.
A Celebration of Life Service for Jeremy David King will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Bible Baptist Church, 1215 Broad Street, Elizabethton, with Rev. Frank Osborne officiating. A eulogy will be given by Michael Morrell. Special music will be provided by Loretta Bowers. The family will receive friends at the church from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Coach Dave Rider, Tyler Tetrick, Michael Morrell, Jay Crockett, Jason Witten, Andrew Rhinehart, Anthony Lunceford, Todd Avery and all former football teammates and coaches.
