Archie Dean Hardin

Archie Dean Hardin, 75, of Hampton, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Roan Highlands Nursing Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Smith and Loretta Dugger Hardin.
Archie was a 1959 graduate of Hampton High School. He was a former employee of Beaunit Fibers and retired from the Carter County School System as a mechanic and bus driver.
Archie served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Beck Mountain Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Earl Hardin.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Martha Honeycutt Hardin; four sons, Billy Hardin and Elizabeth Buttke, Erwin, Jeffrey Lynn Hardin, Elizabethton, Jamie Hardin, Marietta, Ga., and Jessie Hardin and wife Sarah, Roan Mountain; four grandsons, James, Justin, Hunter and Bryson Hardin; one brother, Teddy Hardin, Hampton; six sisters, Stella Henegar, Rozella Hardin and Sally Matherly, all of Elizabethton, Jane Browder, Rebecca Hardin and Elaine Larkins, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Archie Dean Hardin will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. There will be a visitation at a later date for family and friends.
