Mrs. Elizabeth Rains Ramey, 88, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late David P. and Ellen Forbes Rains.
Elizabeth had worked as an administration assistant in the Supervisor’s Office for the Elizabethton City School System. She was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everette “Buddy” Ramey; two sisters, Mary Maples and Florence Songer; and a brother, Lawrence “Bud” Rains.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Timothy “Tim” Ramey and his wife Sheri, Nashville, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Jessica LeeAnn Cloutier and husband Joshua, Elizabethton; great-grandsons, Mason Wilson, Maddux Wilson and Gavin Cloutier, all of Elizabethton, and Kaelin Howe, Nashville; a sister, Frances Sherwood and her husband Bobby, Elizabethton; and nephews, David Sherwood and wife Melissa of North Carolina and Christopher Songer and wife Mila of Kentucky.
A private graveside service for Mrs. Elizabeth Rains Ramey was held at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605-4277.
