Roan Mountain State Park kicks off Summer Concert Series tonight

Published 9:41 am Friday, May 27, 2016

Tonight, the sounds of music will fill the air at Roan Mountain State Park as the park celebrates the kick off of its Summer Concert Series.
Throughout the summer, a variety of singers, musicians, dancers and even a magician will take the state at the Park Amphitheater to entertain the crowds.
“Just about every weekend we will have music or some event going on at the amphitheater,” Roan Mountain State Park Manager J.R. Tinch said.
The performances are free and open to the public, not just to those staying in the cabins or campground at the park. Donations to the park will be accepted at the events and will be used to help the park continue to provide free programs and entertainment for visitors.
All performances will be from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Park Amphitheater. In the event of bad weather, the concerts and other performances will be relocated from the amphitheater to Picnic Shelter 3, which is located next to the park campground.
