Charlotte Christine Berry Canter

Charlotte Christine Berry Canter, 78, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Lakebridge Health Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Hunter C. and Sarah Buckles Berry.
Charlotte was a graduate of Unaka High School. She was an employee of Betsy Floral Shop for 30 years and was an assistant at Dr. Ward’s Chiropractic Center for several years. She was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Avery Hensley and Kermith W. Canter; a son, Terry Max (Peanut) Canter; two brothers, Ernest and Clarence Berry; and a sister, Wanda Cole.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Canter and wife Kelly and Hunter J. Canter, all of Elizabethton; her grandchildren, Dustin Canter, Evan Canter and Mia Canter; two great-grandchildren, Kaydie Blankenship and Baylee Ingram; one sister, Cleadith Cole, Elizabethton; her special friends, Florence Dougherty and the Pleasant Beach Church family; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, in the Buckles Cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Biggs officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Lakebridge Health Center for the excellent care she received.
