Charles Edward Hodge

Charles Edward Hodge, 89, of Rural Hall, N.C., passed away May 31, 2016, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C. He was born November 26, 1926 to the late William Edward and Retha Viola Hodge in Carter County, Tenn.
Charles served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a Mason for many years in the Virginia Lodge. He had a special love for children, especially his nieces, nephews and step-children.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Hodge, of 17 years; one son and daughter-in-law, William and Susan Hodge of Elizabethton; and one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Sue and Mike Truitt.
A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Crestview Memorial Park, 6850 University Parkway, Rural Hall, N.C. 27045, with Rev. Don McGee and Rev. Ken Evans officiating. Military Rites will be conducted at the service. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
