Hattie Edith Reece Campbell

Hattie Edith Reece Campbell, 93, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Pine Ridge Care Center following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was born March 13, 1923 to the late Ottie Reece and Dovie Gregg Reece Smith. In addition to her parents, “Maw” will be greeted in Heaven by her granddaughter, Cindy Hardin, who she loved so dearly, and a sister, Wanda Jones.
Edith attended Watauga Academy. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant and homemaker. More than anything else, Edith’s entire life served as a living witness for and devotion to Christ, as well as an unwavering love for her children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elizabethton.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Terri Campbell, Elizabethton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Earlene Campbell, Southport, N.C., Aggie and Bobby Lyons and Loretta and Wayne Peeks, all of Elizabethton; one granddaughter and her husband, Tiffany and Mark Revis, Elizabethton; one great-granddaughter, Makenzie Revis, Elizabethton; and two nephews, Buddy Wolf and Rick Wolf. Many cousins and friends also survive.
A private service for Hattie Edith Reece Campbell will be held at a later date. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Pine Ridge Care Center and the ladies from Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
