Charles Wesley Collins

Charles Wesley Collins, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Raleigh, N.C., he was a son of the late Milton Odell and Eula Mae Coleman Collins and had lived in Elizabethton for the past 40 years.
Charles was a retired mechanic, having worked at Greystoke Chevrolet, Cadillac in Johnson City for several years. He was a member of Southside Free Will Baptist Church. His hobbies were fishing, camping and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Barbara McInturff Collins; his children, Allen Cooper Sr. and wife Sue Ann and Thomas Cooper and wife Betty, all of Elizabethton, and Susan Lemley and companion Tom Laymon, Jonesborough; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Charles Wesley Collins will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Burleson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Manuel Simerly, Adam Triplett, Caleb Gross, Jacob Cooper, Allen Cooper Jr., Nicholas Padua, Kevin Scalf and Randy Bradley. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. Friends may also visit with his family at the residence.
