Mark your calendars — the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce has set the date for this year’s Taste of Carter County event.
This year the event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29 and tickets for the event will go on sale in late July.
“It will be at Citizen’s Bank Stadium again this year,” said Elizabeth White with the Chamber of Commerce.
More details about the event will be released later after plans become more finalized, White said.
“We’re still in the beginning stages of getting all the tickets set and contacting all the restaurants,” White said.
Each year, the Chamber hosts the Taste as a way to showcase the restaurants that call Carter County home while also raising funds to help support local organizations.
At the event, each participating restaurant brings different food items for sampling by the attendees. Some restaurants bring their signature, best loved dishes while others prepare special items just for the Taste event. Ticket holders get the opportunity to wander through the event and sample items from each of the participating restaurants.
“We had such great restaurants last year,” White said.
Not only was there a great turnout from the local restaurants, White said the event was a sold out affair last year.
Local restaurants interested in participating in the event can contact the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce at 423-547-3850.
“If they can give us a call we will have some more information for them,” White said.
