Richard “Dick” Phillips

Richard “Dick” Phillips, of San Andreas, Calif., died on June 5, 2016, at the age of 82.
Born in Elizabethton, Tenn., Dick played football at Elizabethton High School and later at George Washington University. A graduate of ETSU, he served two years in the Army, then moved to California, eventually starting a 35-year teaching career with the California Youth Authority.
Preceded in death by his wife, Lisla Phillips, he leaves behind his children, Mike and his wife, Connie Phillips, of San Andreas; Bobbi and her husband, Brandon Dell’Orto, of Roseville, Calif.; and Patrick and his wife, Nikki Phillips, of East Kingston, N.H. His 10 grandchildren will miss their entertaining grandpa.
He was laid to rest at Happy Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the “Dick Phillips Calaveras High School Scholar Athlete Fund” at 1 Winslow Drive, East Kingston, NH 03827.
