John Wayne McNeill, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center. John was born in Moore County, N.C., to the late Johnny and Florence Caddell McNeill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond McNeill, and a sister, Brenda Ann Conners.
John worked in the auto repair industry and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 30 years, Brenda McNeill, of the home; a son, Johnnie Harold McNeill of Raleigh, N.C.; three daughters, Tamera D. Frye of Carthage, N.C., Alma Ruth West and Nora Marie Loving, both of Sanford, N.C.; a granddaughter, Danielle D. Frye, of the home, and one other granddaughter; four grandsons; four great-grandchildren; one brother, James “Jim” C. McNeill of Aberdeen, N.C.; and two sisters, Connie Darlene Sullivan of Elizabethton and Nancy Sada of Oak Island, N.C.
A graveside service to honor the life of John Wayne McNeill will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 1, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Minister Chris McCoury officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Friday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to Experience of Pentecost Church, C/O Minister Chris McCoury, 1449 Highway 19E, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
