Antonio Murillo Porras, age 60, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from the Holston Valley Medical Center. Antonio was born in Mexico on June 2, 1956 to Carmen Murillo Porras, of Mexico and the late Guadalupe Murillo. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his step-daughter, Patty Vines.
Antonio retired from North American Rayon Corporation in Elizabethton, where he had worked in manufacturing. He attended Erwin Bible Holiness Church and enjoyed going to church. He was a good family man, and was a loving dad and grandfather. He took care of his wife Brenda, during her sickness, never leaving her side.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, include his loving wife of 28 years, Brenda Vines Murillo, of the home; three daughters, Elena Murillo and Imelda Murillo, both of Mexico, and Eva Murillo, of Elizabethton, TN; two sons, Juan Pedro Murillo Ramirez and Felix Murillo Ramirez, both of Elizabethton, TN; six grandchildren, Abby Granados Ramirez, Felix Granados Ramirez, Marcos Josafat Ambriz, Derek Azael Ambriz, Ivan Castro and Evelyn Ramirez; seventeen step grandchildren; one step-daughter, Lisa Wilson, of Elizabethton, TN; four brothers, Jose Murillo Porras and Raul Murillo Porras, both of Mexico, and Martin Murillo Porras and Victor Murillo Porras, both of Unicoi, TN; four sisters, Andrea Murillo Porras, Ofelia Murillo Porras, Maria Murillo Porras and Matilde Murillo Porras, all of Mexico; a special sister-in- law and brother-in- law, Leon and Sue Montgomery, of Elizabethton; and his special friends, Margaret and Lupe Salas and Billy Cole, all of Elizabethton.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Antonio Murillo Porras will be conducted at 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Kim Casey and Rev. Leon Montgomery, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday; or at the residence at other times.
The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 8, 2016 in the Emmert Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jeffery Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Cesar Murillo and Jesus Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Chapman, Lupe Salas, and Leon Montgomery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 9:30 AM on Friday, to go in procession.
