John Orson Ruehl

John Orson Ruehl, 56, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016, at his residence.
A native of Lake County, Ind., he was a son of the late William Arnold Ruehl Sr. and Ellen Olivia Estrada Ruehl. He had lived in Elizabethton since 2001.
Mr. Ruehl was a dock worker security guard. He was a member of Hampton Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Ruehl Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Tammy Laws Ruehl; his children, Angie Jaramillo and Mark Jaramillo, both of Indiana, Cynthia Kulinski, Elizavette Luna and Crystle Gilbert, all of Elizabethton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; three sisters, Marcella Ruehl and Norma Ruehl, both of Indiana, and Dorothy Ruehl, Elizabethton; a brother from another mother, Leroy Ellis; and two foster brothers, Bob and Marvin Vanderwater.
A Celebration of Life Service for John Orson Ruehl will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Hampton Christian Church with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, minister, officiating. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website at
