Pereda Rowland Weaver

Pereda Rowland Weaver, 98, of Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
A native of Forest City, N.C., she was a daughter of the late James and Florence Hall Rowland. She had lived most of her life in Elizabethton.
Pereda was a nurse at Carter County Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. She was a faithful servant to the Lord who loved sharing the gospel with everyone she met. She was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Herman Weaver; a daughter, Phyllis “Carol” Huskins; three brothers, Dennie Rowland, Quinton Rowland and Lee Rowland; and two sisters, Blanche Boye and Jewel Rogers.
Survivors include a son, Norman “Dean” Weaver (Sonja) of Pascagoula, Miss.; her grandchildren, Melissa Frazer (Lewis) of Knoxville and John Weaver (June) of Starkville, Miss.; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Frazer (Elizabeth), Lawrence, Kan., Aaron Frazer, Knoxville, and Lauren Weaver, Starkville, Miss.; one surviving sister, Ellen Romano, West Haven, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests your presence at a funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Pereda Weaver to be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at Caldwell Springs Baptist Church with Dr. William Duncan and Rev. James Hawk officiating. The Eulogy will be given by her great-grandson, Andrew Frazer. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mr. Lynn England, Mr. Wayne Laws, Mr. Chris Long, Mr. Eddie Nave, Mr. Terry Oliver and Mr. Jerry Weaver. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family and employees of the former Carter County Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday at Caldwell Springs Baptist Church.
