Lydia Ruth Blevins, 69, of Roan Mountain, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Gurney and Rosie McKinney Birchfield.
Mrs. Blevins was a homemaker. She attended Sugar Hollow Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Blevins; three children, Peggy Cable and Jerry Estep, Kenneth Wayne Blevins and Samantha Arnett, and Melissa Garland; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother, Timothy Birchfield; and a sister, Daisy Thompson, Newland, N.C.
Funeral services for Lydia Ruth Blevins will be conducted at 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Randy English and the Rev. Terry Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Birchfield Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Pallbearers will be Jerry Estep, Billy Garland, Kenneth Blevins, Isaac Garland, Anthony Cable and Chris Roark.
