Shirley Loggins

Mrs. Shirley Loggins, 78, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys Morrison and was born in Johnson County, Tenn.
Shirley was a dedicated Army wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid Lady Vols and NASCAR fan. She also enjoyed following politics and attending rallies for her favorite candidates.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jere Loggins and his wife, Roxanne, Columbia, S.C.; two grandsons, Blake Loggins and Grant Loggins, Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Carolyn Matthews and her husband, Michael, Elizabethton, and Sue Smith and her husband, Dick, Elizabethton; three brothers, Paul Morrison and his wife, Phyllis, Mountain City, John Morrison, Elizabethton, and Frank Morrison and his wife, Charlene, Boone, N.C.; her former husband, Jerrell Loggins; and her nieces and nephews, Josh Smith, Joe Smith, Missy Stines, Summer Connely and Chris Morrison.
A committal and entombment service for Mrs. Loggins will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Jack Hamilton officiating. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carter County Imagination Library, C/O Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library, 201 North Sycamore Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hillview Health Care for all the love and care shown to Mrs. Loggins during her illness.
