Emma Tolley Honeycutt

Emma Tolley Honeycutt, 90, of Browns Branch Road, Hampton, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Emma was born in Carter County on May 3, 1926 to the late Charlie and Celia McKinney Tolley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Honeycutt; two brothers, Will Tolley and Lawton Roberts; three sisters, Cassie Bennett, Maude Byrd and Merle Bennett; and her “Phone Friends,” Maude Clark and Albert Simerly.
Emma was a homemaker and a member of Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She loved to garden and take care of her cows, “Pet and Bonnie,” and her dog, “Jack.”
Those left to cherish her memory include several nieces and nephews as well as her special friends, Captola Hyder and Nannie Miller.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Emma Tolley Honeycutt will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 17, in the McKinney Cemetery on Browns Branch Road, Hampton, with Rev. Terry Jones officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Stevens, Roger Ellison, Roger Stevens, Arnold Willis and Ken Church.
