Marion Franklin “Sunny” Harmon III

Marion Franklin “Sunny” Harmon III, 79, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Meridian, Miss., he was a son of the late Marion F. Harmon Jr. and Beatrice Greene Harmon.
Sunny grew up in Johnson City and graduated from University High. He worked a number of years as a supervisor for Wright & Lopez and also Modern Equipment Company. He also lived a number of years in Black Mountain, N.C., retiring from PGC Corporation. He attended Blue Springs Christian Church where he loved worshipping with his beloved church family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlene Lovelace Harmon; his second wife, Mary Reese Harmon; and his sister, Fran Cameron.
Survivors include his sons, Jeff and wife Teresa, Elizabethton, Jerome, Greeneville, Tenn., and Joey and wife Michelle, Radcliff, Ky.; his grandchildren, Cecilee Wieler, Jelia Harmon, Joseph Harmon, Jesalyn Harmon, Justin Harmon, Sean Hardiman, Brittne Hardiman, Alyson Burns, Zoe Burns and Joshua Burns; his brother, William Harmon, Kingsport; his sister, Bea Lahr, Rifle, Colo.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; his brother-in-law, Frank Cameron, Clinton, Ohio; and his beloved “Pups,” Rusty and Sally.
Funeral services for Marion Franklin “Sunny” Harmon III will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, officiating. Music will be provided by the Rev. Ronnie Campbell. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. A special “Thank You” to his caregivers of Hillview Home Health Care, especially Alicia and Katie. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
