Callis Verlon Brickey

Callis Verlon Brickey, 79, of Kingsport, a loving friend to all, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
A native of Wise County, Va., he was a son of the late Earnest and Viola Matthews Brickey. He had lived most of his life in Kingsport.
Mr. Brickey was a concrete finisher and a former employee of TVA. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith. He loved to go fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Hershel, Dennis and Luckey Brickey, and two sisters, Donna Brickey and Betty Chandler.
Survivors include the love of his life, Reda Berry; his children, Karen Brickey and Johnny Brickey, both of Kingsport; his grandchildren, Gary—Merissa Brickey, Ginger—Brandon Osborne and Makayla Catron—John, Shawn Cordell and daughters; one great-grandson, Brantley River Brickey; his sisters, Ronda Stanley—Billy, Violet Brickey and Tina Brickey Blevins, all of Kingsport, and soon to be a great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Osborne; his brothers, Lindsey Brickey—Sue, and Sterling Brickey, all of Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and Reda’s children, Charity—James, Joshua—Carol and special grandchildren, James, Doug, Greg, Tyler and Keshia.
A private service at his request will be conducted Friday in the Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Hampton. A Celebration of Life Service will be at his residence October 1 beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Reda Berry, P.O. Box 354, Kingsport, TN 37662.
