Teresa Julian, left, and Oma Lambert have seen tremendous success over the past 30 years with the Lamberts Produce store. Julian took over the business three years ago from her mother, Oma.

For over 30 years, Lamberts Produce has proven to be a key resource for community members looking for produce and flowers for their everyday needs.
With the tireless work put in by the family, readers of the Elizabethton Star voted Lamberts Produce as the winners of the Star Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Food – Fresh Produce and Best Produce Stand.
“I really appreciate our customers,” Lamberts Produce owner Teresa Julian said. “Everyday customers, every week customers … it’s like what I tell everybody, it doesn’t matter if you spend 50 cents or $5, you still had that choice to come to me and I really appreciate it.”
Oma Lambert, Julian’s mother and previous owner of the shop, provided a token of gratitude for community members who continue to help the growth of the business.
“I really want to thank them,” she said. “They’ve been so great working with Teresa and staying loyal to the business.”
Teresa took over the reins and has no plans of discontinuing her services to the community.
“I took over the business as the daughter for the past three years,” Julian said. “We just hope to continue to keep it as a family-owned business.
“We have a lot of regular customers that come on a weekly basis,” Julian continued. “We have picked up a lot of new customers over the past three years. People come in and express that they’re happy to have a small business like this to come to that will meet their needs.”
Julian said that anybody that hasn’t stopped by the business can expect friendliness as soon as they step through the doors. Along with offering fresh produce to the public, the shop offers different flowers to spruce up any front yard, garden or porch.
But regulars can expect a change of location in the coming weeks, Julian added. While remaining on Highway 19E in the Valley Forge community, residents can expect to see Lamberts Produce set up across the road from State Line Drive In.
“We’re in the process of moving,” Julian said Wednesday. “Everything will stay the same, still family-owned and operated. We’re just relocating. We hope to do that next week and keep the family business going. It’s a much bigger building,” Julian said. “We’re looking to expand and have brand new products, along with our normal items.”
Lamberts Produce is open through the week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, contact the store at 423-547-9477.
