With an idea of wanting to help the community, Snap-on of Elizabethton is gearing up to provide entertainment to the area.
Snap-on is hosting the 2016 Summer Spectacular Car & Bike Show on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the event is open to the public.
After stepping away from the events for a couple of years, Paul McGill stated the company was ready and willing to do what they could to help make an impact locally.
“We’ve been out of it for about two years,” McGill said. “Our community involvement members really just got together and wanted to do something to help the community.”
And with the recommendation of Shriners Hospital coming through the pipeline, McGill said it was an easy choice.
Shriners Hospitals for Children is one of the largest healthcare systems in the world that provide specialized care to children with conditions including burns, spinal, cleft lip and palate, and spinal cord injuries.
There is no fee for spectators at the event but donations are encouraged, McGill added. Individuals looking to register to be part of the show can register early for $15 but interested participants that want to register the day of the show can for $20.
McGill added that anyone looking to register early can either stop by the Snap-on location or call their office at 423-297-9810.
Along with a variety of vehicles on display in the Snap-on parking lot, there will be other activities including plant tours, music and food vendors. Dash plaques will be available for vehicles and McGill added there is a $10 ticket buy-in to be in the drawing for a $10,000 toolbox.
