In just two short weeks local shoppers will have the chance to pick up some unique handcrafted items while helping to support a service group that helps provide assistance to members of the community.
This marks the fifth year that the Elizabethton Woman’s Club has held their special Christmas Craft Show. This year the event will be held on Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day at the Parks and Recreation Center located at 300 W. Mill Street.
“This is a great place to do your Christmas shopping,” said Jo Voigt, EWC member and one of the event’s coordinators. “We’ve got something for every age.”
This year’s event will feature around 50 different crafters and artisans who create a wide variety of items in a number of different mediums. Among the types of crafts available at the show will be quilts, baby items, baskets, jewelry, stained glass, afghans, wood crafts, hand-painted items, home decor, Christmas decorations, and artwork.
“We’re also having food this year,” Voigt said, adding the menu will include such fare as hotdogs, soup beans, chili, mince pies, and desserts will be available for purchase.
Three of the local crafters who will take part in this year’s event are Maureen Strickling, JoAnn Blankenship and David Kramer.
