Eula Belle (Trivette) Barger

Eula Belle (Trivette) Barger, 72, of Portage, Ind., passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, Ind.
Belle was born May 5, 1944 in Avery County, N.C., a daughter of the late Arlie Ray and Daisy Maxine Trivette. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ray “Bib” Trivette and Bernard B. Trivette; sisters-in-law, Sharon Trivette, Sue Trivette, Marilyn Trivette and Barbara Barger; and a brother-in-law, James Wells.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Owen A. Barger of Portage, Ind.; her children, Sheila (Jack) Lenburg of Indiana and Greg (Tammy) Barger of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Nicole Lenburg and Jessica and Bryce Barger; her siblings, Jessie Lee (George) Lambert, Genevieve Greenwell, Bob Trivette, Ferrell Trivette, Bill Trivette, Dennis (Sharon) Trivette and Reed Trivette; her sisters-in-law, Linda Trivette, Rose Stout, Mary Trivette, Pearl Trivette, Lawanza (Ken) Gurman and Donna Wells; a step-sister, Donna Pearson; her brothers-in-law, Gaithel Barger and Teddy (Barbara Ann) Barger; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Belle was raised in Poga, Tenn., and most of her childhood was spent in Buntontown, Tenn. She married the love of her life, Owen Barger, on October 12, 1962, in Crown Point, Ind. The couple settled in Northwest Indiana where they raised their two children. Belle was a homemaker who loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a sharp-dressed woman who loved to shop, cook and fish with Owen. Belle was known for making the best chicken and dumplings and salmon patties. Her dash was full of life and love.
Her brother, Bill Trivette, will welcome friends and family at his home in Hampton, Tenn., on Thursday and Friday.
The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, November 11, at Tetrick Funeral Home, 211 N. Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, Tenn. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, in the Trivette Cemetery in Poga. Everyone is asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home at 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Shriners Hospital.
