Jackie Johnson, 54, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in West Chester, Pa., on December 21, 1961 to the late Darrell and Ruby Francis Fenner Gilbert.
Jackie was a very happy and outgoing person. She loved art, especially drawing. She was always fun to be around and loved to joke around with her family and friends. She loved to be outdoors and especially loved to go camping and fishing. More than anything, Jackie loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish her memories include her fiancé, James Matherly; sons, Jason Johnson, Johnny Johnson and Scotty Johnson; sister, Tammy McElyea; grandchildren, Alexis Johnson, Dillon Johnson, Mitchell Johnson, Brooklyn Johnson, Anna Faith Johnson and Lily Johnson; great-grandchild, Landon Roark; niece, Angela Campbell; nephew, Chris McElyea; and her two special four-legged friends, Molly and Taz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, November 14, in the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shannon Courtner officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at Rainbow Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny McElyea, Johnny Johnson, Gary Johnson, Mitchell Johnson, Steve Pardue, Chris McElyea, James Matherly and Dillon Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are James Pardue, Dave Fenner, Bob Caroway and Jeff Fenner. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 3 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Tammy McElyea, 571 Pleasant Valley Road, Mountain City, Tenn., or her fiancé, James Matherly, 233 Well Street, Elizabethton, Tenn.
