Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz from the popular television show American Pickers are hoping to visit Tennessee in December and if you have a large collection of unique items they might just pick you.
Wolfe and Fritz along with their team are planning to film episodes of their television show in Tennessee. The last time American Pickers came to Tennessee was 2014 when the show filmed an episode in Bloomington Springs, a small town near Cookeville.
American Pickers is a documentary series that explores the fascinating world of antique ‘picking’ on the History channel. The show follows Wolfe and Fritz, two of the most skilled pickers in the business, as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques. They are always excited to find sizeable, unique collections and learn the interesting stories behind them.
According to Bonnie Carbone, Casting Associate Producer for American Pickers, the show is reaching out to Tennessee residents who have antique collections to try to determine where the upcoming episodes will be filmed.
“Wherever the greatest collection is, that’s where we’ll go,” Carbone said. “They’re always looking for something new and unique they’ve never seen before.”
“We’re looking for leads throughout the region, specifically interesting characters with interesting items and lots of them,” she added.
Carbone noted that Wolfe and Fritz only pick private collections. “So no stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public,” she said.
Show producers are looking for individuals who have large private collections that can keep Wolfe and Fritz “busy all day,” Carbone said.
Individuals with private collections that would like to contact the show to see if American Pickers will “pick” them can contact the show by telephone at 1-855-OLD-RUST (653-7878), or by email to AmericanPickers@cineflix.com.
