Eva Elizabeth “Betty” Nave Oliver, 83, of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Elizabethton on September 3, 1933, a daughter of the late Shelby and Hazel Holly Nave. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Johnny Harrison Oliver, daughter, Johnnie Lou Hartley, sister, Selma Curtis, and brother, Robert Nave.
Betty was a member of East Side Baptist Church. She was retired from Iodent Company.
Betty is survived by daughter, Sherry Oliver Bowers, and her husband, Marvin Bowers, of Knoxville, Tenn., and daughter, Gina Beth Oliver, of Elizabethton. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Curtis Bowers, San Antonio, Texas, Marc Bowers, Orlando, Fla., and Brian Hartley, Joe Hartley and Denise Davis of Elizabethton. Survivors also include four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Following her wishes, Betty’s body was donated to James H. Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, for medical research. Her remains will be cremated and returned to the family for later burial at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
