Calvin Blane Quesenberry

Calvin Blane Quesenberry, 82, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 17, 2016. He was the son of the late Minor and Ocie Quesenberry and was born in Montgomery County, Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Edythe Quesenberry Tickle.
Calvin came to the Bristol area to work at Raytheon. He later retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He continued working as a driver for NET Trans and then established his own business, C & S Q Transport.
Calvin attended Stoney Creek Baptist Church. He was the Regional Director of the PTA in Bristol and was active in the National Association of Letter Carriers and the Carter County GOP. He also enjoyed NASCAR and football.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley W. Taylor Quesenberry; one son, Calvin “Corky” Quesenberry and wife Daphne Cable, Marietta, Ga.; daughters, Barbara Raymond and husband John, Bluff City, Tenn., and Sue Bebber and husband Sam, Lodi, Va.; step-daughters, Lisa Richardson and husband Allen and Amy Netherly and husband Steve, and step-son, Randy Taylor, all of Elizabethton, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Henry and wife Betty, and sister-in-law, Janice Oliver and husband Ron, Blountville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nephew, Billy Tickle, Dublin, Va., along with several other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and interment for Calvin Blane Quesenberry will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the funeral service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stoney Creek Baptist Church, 1843 Highway 91, Elizabethton, TN 37643 or to the TACA Scholarship Fund, 826 Tennessee Avenue, Bristol, TN 37620. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website at www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
