Clifford Wayne Morgan, 71, Hermitage Health Center, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Rouster & Anna Mae Clawson Morgan. Clifford  attended  Hampton High School.  He was retired from the United States Army receiving the rank of Sgt. He served during the Vietnam Era and Desert Storm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Herman Clawson and Edsel Morgan and a sister: Luvenia Powers.

Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: Tony Wayne & Lisa Morgan, Elizabethton and a daughter: Marie Morgan, Elizabethton. Three Grandchildren: Samuel Wayne Morgan, Amber Holloway and Jonathan Holloway. Two Sisters: Sue Hicks and husband Joe, Banner Elk, North Carolina and Elaine Phillips, Boone, North Carolina. One Brother: Leslie Morgan and wife Shirley, Butler. Several nieces & nephews.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Rev. Norman Loveless officiating. Pallbearers and Military Honors will be provided by the Tennessee National Guard. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Hermitage Health Care, the staff of Amedisys Hospice and the staff at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:10 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
