Gloria Dickey

Gloria Dickey, age 80, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Gloria was born in Niagara Falls, New York to the late Sam and Elizabeth Bevaqua Pete. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Peters; and a sister.
Gloria worked as a seamstress and was a member of First Christian Church of Bluff City. She was a member of the Elizabethton Cancer Support Group and enjoyed quilting and reading.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Debi Luttrell McCune and husband George, of LaGrange, KY, Pauline Perna, of Niagara Falls, NY, and Patricia Morrison and husband Doug, of Elizabethton, TN; a son, Daniel Pace, of Elizabethton, TN; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and two nephews, also survive.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway Percy Funeral and Cremation Services, or at the home at any time.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Gloria Dickey will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2017, in the Ritchie Cemetery in Elizabethton with Mr. Josh Scalf, minister, officiating. A eulogy will be provided by her son, Daniel Pace. Active pallbearers will be Richard Oaks, Logan Pace, Josh Scalf, Shannon Starnes, Triston Miller and Cody McQueen. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Oaks, Robby Luttrell and Brandon Sutton. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services at 12:45 PM on Sunday, to go in procession to the cemetery.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Cancer Society, 871 N. Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909.
The family wishes to express sincere and heartfelt appreciation to Mountain States Hospice, Dr. Dennis Starr and the doctors and nurses at Sycamore Shoals Hospital for the love and care shown to Mrs. Dickey and to the family during her illness.
