Fiddlin’ Carson Peters and Iron Mountain will perform inside Sonny Smith Gymnasium Saturday for a fundraising event for the Cloudland Lady Highlander basketball programs at the high and middle schools.

Fans of bluegrass will have their hands full this weekend.
The Cloudland Lady Highlanders basketball program is hosting a special concert featuring Fiddlin’ Carson Peters and Iron Mountain at Sonny Smith Gymnasium for a fundraiser to benefit the Lady ’Landers high school and middle school programs on Saturday, Jan. 21.
The event will also feature the Simerly Creek Believers and The Principles.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the concert. Simerly Creek Believers start at 6 p.m. for an hour set, followed by The Principles. Fiddlin’ Carson Peters and Iron Mountain will cap off the night with a performance at 8 p.m.
Cloudland High School Lady ’Lander head coach Lucas Honeycutt added Saturday’s event will provide a great atmosphere for a family night out with the performances taking place inside the gym — away from inclement weather.
Tickets for the event are set at $5 per person with all funds going directly to the girls basketball programs at the high and middle schools.
Peters and Iron Mountain have been busy on the music scene at a local and national level.
Bleachers will be available but attendees are also encouraged to bring their own chairs to sit on the gym floor.
Before the concert, a special chili dinner will be held inside the cafeteria. The price for the dinner is $5 per person and proceeds will also go directly to the basketball programs.
“For the music and food, it’s hard to beat that price,” Andrews said with a laugh.
For more information, contact Andrews by calling the high school at (423) 772-5300 or visit the Cloudland Lady Highlander Basketball Facebook page online.
