Kathryn Ann Jones (Kiel), 60, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away with her family at her side on Saturday, January, 21, 2017, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Waukegan, Ill., she was the daughter of Albert and Juanita Kiel. She was preceded in death by both her mother and father.
Kathy had an avid love for animals and spent several years as a pet groomer. She also worked with RGIS, Cash Express, and gave a portion of her time to her son’s Cub Scout troop. She was very fond of the outdoors and spent much of her time hiking and camping. When she wasn’t outside, she was reading one of her favorite crime novels. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Kathy’s memory include her son, Ryan Nelson, and daughters, Leah McDaniel and Jaclyn Nelson. She is also survived by her half sister, Jeannine Bartnicki.
A private celebration of life ceremony will be held among family and friends.
